EV Charger Installation Grants
EVHS and Energy Saving Trust grants
Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS)
The EVHS scheme was created to encourage people to switch to electric cars. A grant was offered to domestic customers to help with the cost of EV charger installation.
The grant currently provides a 75% contribution towards the cost of installing one chargepoint (up to a maximum of £350, including VAT). It is available for most models of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
Changes to EVHS Rules April 2022
From April 2022 EVHS grants will no longer be available to homeowners who live in properties such as bungalows, detached, semi-detached or terraced housing. For these types of properties, the last date for installation of an EV charge point under EVHS will be 31st March 2022.
EVHS will remain open for homeowners who live in flats and people in rental accommodation (flats and single-use properties).
Energy Saving Trust Grant
The Energy Savings Trust (EST) also offers funding via the Domestic Charge Point Funding scheme. They will provide up to £250 further funding, with an additional £100 available for those in the most remote parts of Scotland.
If you are interested in a home EV charging point, please get in touch with us or give us a call on 0131 235 2608.
We will arrange a site visit to survey your property and electrical installation. We will then let you know what work would be involved in an EV charge point installation and give you a quote for the cost. We can also talk you through the terms and conditions of the current grants available to find out if you qualify. We will then help you fill in an application to get the funding process for your new EV chargepoint up and running as quickly as possible.
