Solar Panel Installation Scotland

MCS Certified Solar Panel Installers in Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian & West Lothian

Installing solar panels on your home, means you can generate your own free green electricity from sunlight. Solar Photovoltaic (Solar PV) panels convert sunlight into electricity and they don’t even need clear, blue sky days. They will generate some electricity on cloudy days.

You may believe that Scotland is not ideal for solar panels given our changeable weather, however, our long days in the summer mean they generate electricity for many hours. The team at Capital City Electrical Services are MCS Certified which means you can be assured that we have been fully trained to install solar panels.

We will only use equipment and panels that meet good standards of quality and we will be technically safe and competent during the installation.

Safety and quality is guaranteed.

Solar panel cost and benefits

With the ever-rising cost of electricity, solar panels allow you to generate free electricity for your home

You will be generating green energy which means you are reducing your CO2 emissions. 10 years ago solar panels were much more expensive to install.

To encourage people to install them on their homes, the Government offered FiT (Feed-in Tariff) payments. In other words, they paid people a small amount for each unit generated which helped reduce the pay-back time on their investment to around 10 years. Solar Panels are now significantly cheaper to install and depending on the number of panels you install, pay back on your initial investment is around 3-5 years.

There are some Government Loans available for renewable energy. You can find out more on the Scottish Government website. A 4kW system (16 panels) can cover the electricity needs of a typical 3-bedroom house if the panels are on a south-facing roof with no obstructions.

Solar Panel Batteries

Use all the energy you generate

If you don’t use all the electricity generated by your panels, it will be exported to the grid to be used by other people.

This is likely to happen in the summer if you are not at home. Ideally, you want to save that electricity so that you can use it at night to cook your dinner and light your home. To do that, you need a solar panel battery.

We can install a battery with your new panels and we can also install a battery to work with an existing installation.
